This one-week Character Voiceover Creation for Animation Workshop aimed at developing the next generation of animation voice actors from Guyana, South America, the Caribbean and the world is coming to you from July 25-30, 2022, fully online. This Workshop will teach you how to develop and create 4 of your own character voiceovers for animation using your natural voice.  You will learn how to speak, act and portray the vocal assets of a hero, villain, sidekick and mentor – in an animated world.

You will also receive tools and referrals to resources that will help you to build your personal and professional demo using familiar and high-end technology and industry software.

This Workshop was designed to challenge Guyanese, Caribbean and global artists, animators, writers, actors, voice artists and creators to create narratives about Guyanese, South American and Caribbean culture that could be consumed and understood by global audiences. It is also aimed at creating cross-cultural collaborations with Guyanese, South American and Caribbean diaspora and international voice actors with an interest in creating animation and TV content featuring Guyanese, South American and Caribbean culture. The ultimate purpose of this Workshop is to strengthen the skills capacity of all attendees and to be a space for character voiceover creation and development of new, unique voices. Work created in this Workshop will be published in many outlets including video generated content by all attendees, particularly those who submit or present demos. The videos and/or voice generated by attendees in the live sessions or in demos will be posted on social media, public talent pools, websites and/or by our partners.

What does the Workshop Offer?

This 5 day workshop will be held from Monday – Friday (July 25 – 29, 2022) at 6 PM – 8 PM EST/ Guyana Time / 3 PM – 5 PM daily between the Workshop period. The Workshop days will provide attendees with group workshopping, voiceover training and delivery of 4 character voices created by each attendee for animation. Each participant will walk away with a professional demo using familiar tools, industry software and knowledge of job platforms.
